Binary™ HDMI 8x8 Matrix Switcher with Simultaneous HDMI and HDBaseT Outputs with POC
You asked. We delivered. Our ultra-reliable Binary Matrix Switcher is now power-over-cable (POC) enabled, so the matrix powers the receiver. Of course it s still built on the same principles that put Binary on the map: custom install expertise, innovative technology, and ease-of-use. It even comes equipped with everything needed for control system integration: Ethernet, RS-232 control, and IR routing to boot. It uses a single Cat5e/6 cable to transmit HDMI signals and bidirectional IR - up to 230 ft. 

Important Note:
Shielded Cable Recommendation
Although HDBaseT transmission technology is much less susceptible to EMI interference than other transmission technologies, if possible, it is recommended that you pull shielded Cat5e/Cat6 with this product for maximum reliability. Please note: for proper shielding, shielded connectors must be used with drains connected at both ends. In addition, “EZ end” connectors are not recommended for use with HDMI extenders.

Power Supply Voltage
Please use the 12V power supply included in the package. Use of power supply with a different voltage may cause damage to the product or the power supply.


Simultaneous HDMI & HDBaseT Outputs
Each output provides an HDMI output for local display(s), as well as an HDBaseT output for longer distances. Just pair the HDBaseT output with the optional receiver to achieve distances up to 230 feet. Best of all, both of these outputs can be used in parallel. A great example of this is for use with a preview monitor - connect the projector via the HDBaseT and the preview monitor via HDMI.

Integration Ready w/ Ethernet, RS-232 and IR Routing
To control the matrix itself, Ethernet, bi-directional RS-232 and IR are all available. But the goodies don't stop there – when using an optional HDBaseT receiver, the same Cat5e/6 cable that sends HDMI signals to the TV can also carry IR signals back to source components. And with built-in IR routing you don t have to worry about conflicting codes between devices. Need to send IR signals from a control system to the TV? No problem, the matrix has IR inputs for each room too, handy for sending commands to turn on TVs and change the volume, for example. For guaranteed performance, use Episode IR Products.

Power-Over-Cable (POC) Enabled
This feature enables all the HDBaseT receivers to be powered from the matrix switchers. This means there is no need of power supplies on the receiver side.

HDMI® with 3D
If you love acronyms, this 8X8 has you covered with full support of the HDMI® (with 3D), Deep Color (36bit) and HDCP 2.0 as well as support for Dolby® True HD, Dolby® Digital Plus, DTS™-HD Master and LPCM audio formats.

EDID Management: Work Smarter, Not Harder
Thanks to HDBaseT functionality, you don t have to fiddle with any EQ settings between the switcher and its receiver. Just plug and play – it doesn t get easier than that! And for more sophisticated systems, like those with varying display resolutions, EDID settings can be configured using the included remote control or convenient PC configuration utility. Three EDID modes are provided for ultimate flexibility - Auto, Embedded and Learning.

Software Toolkit
The included PC Configuration utility lets you easily manage EDID settings, test inputs and outputs, update firmware and more.

Rack Mountable
Supplied rack ears make it easy to get this switcher securely mounted. Plus there are two power supply connectors – one on each side of the chassis – so you can run power wherever it s most convenient within your rack layout.

Built-In ESD and Surge Protection
Extensive hardware qualification testing has led us to our most intelligent circuit design yet, and a robust product with excellent ESD and Surge protection. Every connection was tortured with ESD at 12KV, as well as surges up to 1600V. More importantly, though, they lived to tell about it.
